Yuan LIU Director
Dr. Yuan LIU, graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology, is now the professor of Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His researches mainly focus on electrochemical fundamentals and technologies for wastewater treatment, resource recovery from wastewater, and environmental electrochemistry. Dr. Xingzu Wang is a Professor in our center. He received his B.S. degree from Liaoning University (1999-2003), M.S. degree and Ph.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology (2003-2009). Fengjun YIN
Dr. Fengjun Yin is a Professor and master's supervisor in our center. His research interests mainly focus on the electrochemical sensing detection and intelligent process for wastewater treatment. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Environmental Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology (2006-2012), and his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS, 2016-2021). He has presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and was selected as a member of the Young Innovation Promotion Association of CAS. He has published more than 30 SCI papers, of which 20 papers are first and corresponding authors. He has applied for 9 invention patents, and 5 of which have been authorized.
Zeyu XU
Mr.Zeyu Xu is a senior engineer in our center. His research interests focus on the intelligent sensor and intelligent instrument application. He has the extensive experience in sensor technology, weak signal processing algorithm and instrument development. He has been taking charge of 3 scientific research projects and 2 industrial projects. He has authorized 4 invention patents and published 10 technical papers.
Enling TIAN
Ms Enling Tian is an Associate Professor in our center. Her research interests focus on the development and performance evaluation of functional membrane materials and the application of membrane technology in environmental engineering. Mr. Zhaoming Chen is a senior engineer in our center. He received his B.S. degree from Northwestern Ploytechnical University (2003-2007) and M.S. degree from Academy of Aerospace Solid Propulsion Technology (AASPT) (2007-2010).
Ling FANG
Ling Fang is currently an Associate Professor at Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She received her B.S. (2014) and Ph. D. (2019) degree in Chemistry from Chongqing University. She has obtained two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and several other provincial grants. Besides, she has authored over 30 publications. Her research interests focus on the synthesis of functional materials utilized in electrochemical technology for wastewater treatment, and the exploration of underlying reaction mechanisms.
Xiaohui YANG
Dr. Xiaohui Yang is currently an Associate Professor in our center. He received his M. S. degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2017 and Ph. D. degree from Chongqing University in 2020. His research interests focus on environmental electrochemistry, including synthesis of functional materials for wastewater treatment and resource utilization. He has secured the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scholar), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (The 70th Batch), Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing (Postdoctoral Program), and Special Research Associate Foundation from Chinese Academy of Science. He has published more than 30 SCI papers in Chem. Sci., Appl. Catal. B: Environ., Small, Chem. Eng. J., J. Energy Chem. etc.
Cheng SONG
Mr. Song Cheng is a senior engineer in our center. He received his B.S. degree from China University of Petroleum (2005-2009) and M.S. degree from Southwest Petroleum University (2009-2012). He joined our center in 2012 and starts his doctoral study in Chongqing University in 2020. His research interests focus on the development of chemical agent for wastewater treatment. So far, he has participated in 10 national projects and authored 12 papers. Besides, he has granted 20 patents.
Lei ZHENG
Dr. Lei Zheng is an Associate Professor in our center. He received his B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Southwest University (2008-2012), M.S. degree in Safety Science and Engineering from Southwest University of Science and Technology (2012-2015), and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Technology Sydney (UTS, 2018-2020). Prior to studying in UTS, he spent two years in University of Wollongong for doctoral study (2016-2018).
Shun LU
Dr. Shun Lu is an Associate Professor in our center. He is a prominent researcher in the field of electrochemical molecular conversion, specializing in molecular catalysts for sustainable energy and environmental applications. After obtaining his Ph.D. of agricultural biosystems and mechanical engineering (ABME) from South Dakota State University in 2021, he joined the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology as an Assistant Professor, then promoted as Associate Professor since 2025. His notable work on nickel(II) phthalocyanine for urea electrooxidation, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Lu's academic contributions include over 100 SCI-indexed publications, where he has served as the first or corresponding author. He has established significant collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Michigan State University, University of Surrey, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, enhancing the global impact of his research. Dr. Lu also plays an active role in the academic community as a reviewer and editor for numerous high-impact journals, including Advanced Functional Materials and the ACS series journals. In recognition of his substantial contributions to energy conversion and storage, Dr. Lu was selected as one of the World’s Top 2% of Most-Cited Scientists by Stanford-Elsevier in 2024, a testament to the influence and importance of his research in the scientific community.
Lin CHANG
Dr. Lin Chang is an Associate Professor. His research interests mainly focus on photoelectrochemical device manufacturing and microfluidic systems. He received his B. S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, M. S. degree, and Ph. D. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has published 3 SCI papers and 5 patents.
Yu LEI
Mr. Yu Lei is an Assistant Research Fellow in our center. He received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree in Huazhong Agriculture University (2006-2012). After graduation, he worked as an Assistant Research Fellow in Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Science.
Di WU
Dr. Di Wu is an Associate Professor in our center. He received his B.S. degree in Water Supply and Sewage Engineering from Xihua University (2011-2015) and his Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Chongqing University (2016-2022). He also has a three-year exchange student experience at the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2018-2021).
JiaXin NI
Dr. Jiaxin Ni is currently an Assistant Research Fellow in our center. His research centers on water pollution control technology, particularly environmental functional materials. He received his M.S. (2019) and Ph.D. (2024) both from Harbin Institute of Technology. From 2022 to 2023, he participated in a public-funded joint cultivation program at Aarhus University in Denmark. Dr. Ni has contributed to several high-impact research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Major Water Project, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His achievements include participation in drafting a group standard, filing several national invention patents, and publishing multiple papers in esteemed journals such as Nature Communications, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, and Environmental Science: Nano. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for journals like Water Research and Chemical Engineering Journal.
Guangyao ZHAO
Dr. Guangyao Zhao joined our center as an Assistant Research Fellow in 2024. His research interests primarily focus on hybrid dynamic models (mechanistic & data-driven models) for wastewater treatment. He is dedicated to contributing to the integration of artificial intelligence & big data into conventional wastewater treatment technologies. He received his B. S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Henan Polytechnic University, M. S. degree, and Ph. D. degree in Environmental Engineering from Ibaraki University, Japan. To date, he has published 6 SCI papers.
Ying ZHAO
Mr. Zhao Ying is an engineer in our center. He received his B.S. degree from University of Yantai (2005-2009) and M.S. degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (2009-2012). He joined CIGIT in 2012 and started his doctoral study in Chongqing JiaoTong University in 2021. His research interests focus on intelligent instruments for water quality detection and IoT.
Sha WANG
Ms Sha Wang is an engineer in our center. She received her B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry (2007-2011) and M.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry from Southwest University (2011-2014).
