Dr. Ling Fang published a technical paper “Enhanced nitrate reduction reaction via efficient intermediate nitrite conversion on tunable CuxNiy/NC electrocatalysts” in Journal of Hazardous Materials (IF: 10.588), DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jhazmat.2021.126628. In this study, they reported a series of Cu-Ni catalysts with component-controllable CuxNiy nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped carbon film, and disclosured of the associated mechanism for NO3- reduction reaction. They found the lowered energy barriers of *NO2-to-*NO derived from appropriate Ni alloying played a key role in the enhanced catalytic activity. These findings offered valuable insights toward rational design of other catalysts for enhanced NO3- reduction reaction. Prof. Hong Liu is the corresponding author of this paper.
