Dr. Shun Lu is an Associate Professor in our center. He is a prominent researcher in the field of electrochemical molecular conversion, specializing in molecular catalysts for sustainable energy and environmental applications. After obtaining his Ph.D. of agricultural biosystems and mechanical engineering (ABME) from South Dakota State University in 2021, he joined the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology as an Assistant Professor, then promoted as Associate Professor since 2025. His notable work on nickel(II) phthalocyanine for urea electrooxidation, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Lu's academic contributions include over 100 SCI-indexed publications, where he has served as the first or corresponding author. He has established significant collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Michigan State University, University of Surrey, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, enhancing the global impact of his research.

Dr. Lu also plays an active role in the academic community as a reviewer and editor for numerous high-impact journals, including Advanced Functional Materials and the ACS series journals. In recognition of his substantial contributions to energy conversion and storage, Dr. Lu was selected as one of the World’s Top 2% of Most-Cited Scientists by Stanford-Elsevier in 2024, a testament to the influence and importance of his research in the scientific community.
